Our last full day in the Luberon, we visited a few more villages. The village above is Roussillon. The soil and rocks in this area are made of red ochre, so the houses are different shades of red. Reminds you of the soil on P.E.I.
This is a square in Roussillon.
The next town we visited was Lourmarin. The fountain Paulette is resting on is typical of fountains in most villages in Provence. In the old days, before running water, the village fountain is where people got their drinking water.
A nice building in Lourmarin.
Darlene doing a self portrait in an old mirror in Lourmarin.
That evening we went to another village called Goult, to a restaurant that was recommended by the owner of our B&B. The restaurant was called Au Fines Herbes. It was probably the best meal we had in France, very good recommendation.
This was not only our last night in this part of Provence, but the eve of the French National Holiday. The village had a dance organised for the evening, in a square about 100 metres behind where Claude and Paulette are sitting, so as the evening wore on, the atmosphere became really lively. We had a great time as well as a great meal.
