July 04 Languedoc-Roussillon

July 04
On our first full day in Canet, we decided to stay close and check out Canet Plage, as well as spend some time at the beach. This is the view of the beach from the centre of Canet Plage. The mountains in the background are the Pyrenee Mountains meeting the Mediterranean Sea. The Pyrenees separate France from Spain, so we are very close to the Spanish border.

This is the nice walkway that runs along the beach near the town centre.

Further along, the walkway is not as colorful, but continues for quite a few kilometres.

Relaxing on the beach. We swam in the Mediterranean quite a few times that day.

After we had enough of the beach, we checked out the town some more. Paulette wanted this picture for her granddaughter Janelle, who loves merry-go-rounds.
